David Hampson
Prior to receiving his PhD from Stanford University, David Hampson was a commissioned officer in the British Forces, where he successfully attended Parachute and Combat Survival Training Schools.
David Hampson has served on the Board of Children Survival Fund (1991 – 96), a US International NGO, was the Co-chairman (at the invitation of the U.S. Ambassador) of the U.S. Presidential visit to Bulgaria in 1999. He was subsequently invited by the White House Advance Team to Kiev to assist in the 2000 U.S. Presidential visit. David also served on the Organizational Committee for the visit of Pope St. John Paul II to Bulgaria in 2002. More recently he assisted in organizing a key public event for the visit of U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell.
David Hampson has served as the Vice President and a member of the Board of Directors of the American Chamber of Commerce in Bulgaria for many years where he chaired the Business Development Committee. David also served for 8 years as a member of the Fulbright Commission for Educational Exchange. Currently David serves as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of New Symphony Orchestra – the first regional private orchestra. David also serves on the Board of the Bulgarian Charity Aid Foundation. He supported the activities of the Atlantic Club, the Bulgarian aspirant organization and member of the Atlantic Treaty Association, prior to their full accession to NATO.
David Hampson, a U.S. Citizen presently resides in Bulgaria.
